STRATHAM, NH – April 2, 2015

Radiation Safety & Control Services, Inc. (RSCS) was recently awarded a SeaPort Enhanced (Seaport-e) Prime contract. This four year Multiple Award Contract (MAC) was awarded by the Naval Surface Warfare Center. RSCS is one of only two companies in New Hampshire who were awarded this contract to provide services that can support engineering, technology and program management requirements of the US Navy.

RSCS has provided the NSWC with radiation detection products, systems and instrumentation development services since 2007. We have supported the training missions of the NSWC by developing and manufacturing radiation detection simulator devices for training purposes, including electronic dosimeters, meters and probes that interface seamlessly with the command’s fielded Multi-Function RADIAC (MFR) System of radiation detection equipment. Using our instrument calibration ranges, RSCS fully characterized the performance of each of the NSWC devices. Exact replicas of these instruments which comply with stringent MIL-STD requirements were developed as simulators that respond to both manually controlled and simulated sources of radiation, allowing highly realistic training drills for Navy personnel without the use of live radioactive sources. In addition, we have provided the NSWC repair depots with comprehensive Technical Repair Standards which are used by Navy technicians to perform maintenance and repair of the thousands of simulator devices that have been deployed fleet wide.

Under the Seaport-e award, RSCS is ready to provide Research and Development Support, Engineering, System Engineering and Process Engineering Support, Modeling, Simulation and Analysis Support, Software Engineering and Development, Programming and Network Support, Measurement Facilities, Range and Instrumentation Support, Training Support and Functional and Administrative Support. This builds upon our reputation as a reliable teaming partner to the NSWC, and allows us to provide additional project management and consulting services to the Navy. With over 25 years of experience supporting the consulting needs of the nuclear power industry with program assessments, emergency planning, licensing and regulatory support and decommissioning services, we are well positioned to provide world class engineering, technology and project management services to the NSWC under this contracting vehicle.
