RSCS Welcomes Shawn Googins to our Team

RSCS is pleased to welcome Shawn Googins to our growing staff of Certified Health Physicists!  Mr. Googins holds B.S. in Physics from Dickinson College and an M.S. in Health Physics from Georgetown University.  He is certified by the American Board of Health Physics (ABHP), was a previous Part I and Part II panel member, and served as the Chair of the ABHP board of directors.

Mr. Googins has over 35 years of applied health physics experience with the U.S. Public Health Service and several commercial businesses, in the following activities; nondestructive assay (NDA), gamma spectroscopy, internal and external dosimetry, in-vivo and in-vitro bioassay, environmental monitoring, fixed and portable health physics instrumentation and contamination monitors, and operational procedures development.  He has performed alpha spectroscopy, D and D technical project startup and data review, radiological accident modeling and emergency response, cyclotron and accelerator health physics operations, radiation safety training, health physics records/database management, MARRSIM final status surveys, mobile health physics information systems operation and procedure development.
