RSCS Awarded Development of a Frisker Probe Training Simulator for the US Government
Posted on February 20th, 2012

On February 21, 2012, RSCS was awarded a contract to develop a radiation training simulator for the US military.  The training simulator consists of a simulated probe interface and a frisker probe, and will interface directly to the frisker station currently deployed.  This simulator system will use the same wireless technology employed by the RSCS digital 2-way remote-controlled Training Control Unit (TCU) that currently supports the RSCS Radiac and Dosimeter simulators already supplied to the US Government.

The frisker probe training simulator offers manual and semi-automatic control of simulated surface contamination in an area to provide trainees with the most realistic and flexible training environment possible. The design of the simulated probe interface will eventually allow for BNC connection of the variety of RSCS simulated probe types available to standard survey meters.
