RSCS Performing Neutron Characterizations
Posted on September 30th, 2012

RSCS has been performing neutron (and gamma) characterizations for nuclear power plants for several decades.  A characterization effort involves the use of a Tissue Equivalent Proportional Counter (TEPC) and/or the use of bonner spheres.  This equipment is used to characterize the dose equivalent rate or neutron spectrum at a particular location in a plant with excellent precision and accuracy.  Once characterized, our staff will irradiate personnel dosimetry and/or measure the field using  plant instruments.  This allows us to compare the results of plant equipment in accurately assessing neutron doses to workers or members of the public.  Our extensive experience performing these types of measurements, the skill of our staff and our reputation cannot be beat.

Several sites have requested our neutron characterization services, and our calendars are getting full.  If you believe you may be interested in our services in 2013, please contact us as soon as possible.
