RSCS Exhibited at the Health Physics Society Annual Meeting in Madison Wisconsin on July 8-11

Radiation Safety & Control Services exhibited at the Annual HPS meeting in Madison Wisconsin

At this meeting, we featured our latest technical services:

  • Neutron Characterization Services in Support of ANI Initiatives. Read Article!
  • Monte Carlo Simulations Services for Shielding Designs, Including Cyclotrons.
  • Neutron Calibration Services Offered by our Instrument Calibration Laboratory. Read Article!
  • New Training Simulator Instrument Technologies.

We also participated in technical meetings and on several committees:

  • Jay Tarzia provided a PEP class on the use of the MARSAME process for evaluating potential residual radioactivity on materials released from restricted areas.
  • Eric Darois participated on the committee to revise ANSI standard N13.1, “Sampling and Monitoring Releases of Airborne Radioactive Substances from the Stacks and Ducts of Nuclear Facilities".
  • Fred Straccia participated on the committee to revise and consolidate ANSI standards 42.17A and 42.17C, "Performance Specifications for Health Physics Portable Instruments, Normal and Extreme Environmental Conditions".

Finally, we celebrated with our esteemed colleagues!

RSCS enjoyed attending the "Lowell Night Out" and sharing some laughs with our alumni, friends and colleagues. In addition, our rock stars Fred Straccia and Eric Darios played during the Open Mic Night, and were glad to see a packed dance floor!
