RSCS Contributes Article on Radiation Safety Training for Medical Personnel
Posted on November 7th, 2013

Radioactive materials are commonly used in a variety of applications, including power production, industrial process control, non-destructive testing and medical imaging and therapy.  While the use of radioactive materials is heavily regulated by state and federal entities, the possibility exists that the general public could be exposed to materials that have been abandoned, accidentally released or deliberately released in a radiological dispersal device (RDD).  Jay Tarzia recently was engaged by South Florida Hospital News to provide an article on the training and preparations that would benefit medical professionals who may encounter radiological contamination when treating patients.  His article focuses on the fundamental goals of training and provides practical advice that benefits the medical community.  Please select the link below for the full article.
