RSCS Participates in National Maritime Day celebrations on the N.S. Savannah
Posted on May 22nd, 2014

As Chairman of the N.S. Savannah Association, our Director Jay Tarzia recently had the opportunity to participate in National Maritime Day celebrations on May 18th, where the N.S. Savannah was open to the public for tours. The first nuclear powered merchant vessel built under the Eisenhower administrations "Atoms for Peace" program, the N.S. Savannah operated from 1962-1971. This unique ship was designated a national landmark in 1991.

A full write up of the event and some great pictures of the N.S. Savannah can be found in this recent American Nuclear Society Article: http://ansnuclearcafe.org/2014/05/22/ans-historic-landmark-n-s-savannah-has-gala-weekend/
